About this event
The Annual Giving Gala is an event to showcase the talented PULSE Dance Company and EDGE Dancers. This year we are thrilled to include our Junior DCC program in the gala. Proceeds from this event will benefit all KJ dancers this year.
The purpose of this show is to celebrate the hard work and beautiful accomplishments of the competitive program dancers from KJ as well as our new Junior DCC program. For more than 11 years, the KJ Giving Gala has provided more than $80,000 in cash scholarships for our graduating seniors. Their scholarships were used at the following universities: Arizona, Auburn, Baylor, Boston Conservatory, Chapman, Colorado, CU Bolder, George Mason, Julliard, Louisiana State, NYU, Northeastern, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Penn State, Philadelphia School of the Arts, Princeton, Sam Houston State, Southern Methodist University, University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Christian University, Texas Tech, University of Southern California, University of South Carolina, Virginia. This year all proceeds will go back to the entire KJ studio dancers with upgraded studio features and accommodations.
In some years, money was also given towards a benevolent need or worthy cause. $65,000 was collectively given across the following specifi c opportunities: Sofi a Blankenbuehler (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia), The Gabriel Geffer Memorial Scholarship of Excellence, The Debbie Guthrie Memorial Performing Arts Scholarship, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the NYCDA Foundation.
